Description
This course (NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home) teaches advanced students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations, and when unavoidable the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol, for self-defense outside the home. Participants of this course, should already have a basic understanding of general gun safety rules, and the principles of using firearms for self-defense.
This course emphasizes defensive shooting, and students are required to demonstrate handgun safety and control, while shooting: standing; kneeling; from behind cover; and concealment using a variety of exercises. Students are required to bring their own handgun. As well as 150 rounds of ammunition.
Student Requirements: This course is for adult individuals who have a valid FOID card, AND who have completed ANY of the following courses: NRA Basic Pistol, NRA FIRST Steps Pistol, NRA Basic Personal Protection Inside The Home, NRA Defensive Pistol. You also qualify if you have documented previous military experience (i.e. copies of your Honorable Military Discharge DD-214) or Active Duty Military (Current Duty Orders) and Military Reserves identification/paperwork.
