Description
This course (NRA Defensive Pistol) teaches students the knowledge, skills and the attitude essential for surviving life threatening confrontations. In the course you will learn the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. In this course students will review safe firearms handling and cover the proper mindset required when presenting your weapon from concealment, and multiple shooting positions.
This course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation. Participants in this course must be at least 21 years of age and possess previous shooting experience (Example: Completing a State Concealed Handgun License Course).
Student Equipment Requirements: 1. Pistol or Revolver handgun; 2. Ammo – 250 rounds of handgun ammunition; 3. If using a semi-automatic, bring a minimum of 2 magazines. If using a revolver, bring a minimum of 2 speed loaders; 4. Holster – The holster must be strong-side directional draw; 5. Eye protection, Ear Protection and a Sports Cap. Shatterproof safety glasses are preferred, along with ear plugs/muffs and a sports cap with a bill to deflect ejected brass casings. 6. Long sleeve shirts are also suggested. All clothing should be geared towards protecting the participate during range exercises. Range exercises may be conducted in inclement weather unless a safety hazard exists.
